Default Air Recirculation button problem

The air recirculation button on my '05 Tucson does not stay lit. when I select it it will stay on for anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes and then turn itself off. It used to stay on indefinitely. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Is the windshield defroster on? Manual or automatic HVAC?

the vehicle is an automatic. The problem most often occurs when the defroster is on, but occasionally when it is not.

Not the transmission, I was asking if it was the manual HVAC controls or the automated HVAC controls.

Read your owners manual, the recirc is always turned off when you select defrost. And it also turns off on other certain situations when you change the settings.

Sounds like it works as designed.

Default Make sure SUN ROOF IS CLOSED

I had the same problem, solved by my local Hyundai service department.
MAKE SURE YOUR SUN ROOF IS CLOSED

Apparently, if the sun roof is not completely closed, the climate control automatically reverts to outside air after a few moments.

Dude thank you so much for posting this.. I have been trying to find out what was wrong with my ac. A few days ago a accidentally hit the sun roof button and thought I closed it all the way. It did not close and my ac kept reverting back. You saved me repair bill!
