Default Crankshaft pulley separation

I am replacing a timing belt on an 05 Tucson 2.7. I removed the serpentine accy belt, and the crankshaft pulley has no grooves on it. It appears to have separated. The vehicle has been running fine. I know it wouldn't be possible for the pulley to separate, and the belt stay on. Apparently the accy belt was replaced in 09. I can't imagine a situation where the pulley would separate without incident. Vehicle was purchased new. Any ideas?? Thanks
