Default ix35 not starting (EPS light on)

Hi guys,

i've have parked my ix35 (2014 model) in my garage.

I have returned to it to start it up (push button start), and the car will not start anymore.

The engine starter clicks over, but the doesn't actually start. Only the EPS light comes on.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?

Thanks

From the little information you gave, it is hard to say what the problem might be
Does the engine crank and not start? Or does it crank and not start?
Did you try putting the gear selector in neutral and push the start button?

Sorry i'll try and give a fuller picture...

The ix35 is an automatic. When pressing on the brake and pressing the start button (while the car is in park gear) the starter makes a clicking noise like it is trying to start, but there is no noise from the engine trying to turn over.

So the problem isn't the battery.

I thought the problem may be because the steering wheel of the car was turned to one side when the car was parked and the wheel has locked, but supposedly that shouldn't be a problem for a push start car. Unfortunately i can't test trying to turn the wheel while starting it now as i had to leave for work.

would you have any other ideas for things i could try?

Okay, it sounds like a no crank, no start.
Which means you need to check the battery.
Yes, it can be the battery. If you know how to jump start the engine then try it.
If it still doesn't start then you need a DVOM or Multi-meter to do checks on the starter circuit.
But, the clicking noise is classic of a dead or near dead battery.

Thanks for the update.
Now, let us hope there was no parasitic current draw which help to drain the battery of power.
Fingers crossed
