Default New Struts Rattling? What did I miss?

I replaced most all of the suspension on my 2007 Tuscon (even went as far as replacing the "A" frames). But I used the old Strut top mounts and didn't replace the wheel bearings because I couldn't feel any play in the wheels.

That was 3 years ago and it has since developed a "clump" noise when going over rough roads. We've only done about 36,000 miles so I can't believe the shocks are gone again and I still can't feel any play in the wheel bearings. (doesn't really sound like wheel bearings either)

Did I miss something? A bearing in the upper strut mounts?

If it's been 3yrs, you didn't miss anything. Does it make noise when turning the wheel while stopped? Then upper strut bearings.

Only when hitting bumps? Stabilizer links if equipped.

I ended up paying the Hyundai Stealership $200 to tell me that it was the link arm!!! Replaced the upper strut mount anyway; but seems he was right. replacing the link fixed it! Can't believe it went that fast! Note to self:- buy my parts from RockAuto in future!!
