Tuscon Oil Filter Location
Hi,
I have a 2006 Hyundai Tuscon and I'm trying to change the oil for first time. I looked everywhere for the oil filter and I couldn't believe where I found it. Its located under the front bumper and I can hardly get my hands on it. What a bad spot. Does anyone have any tips on its removal? I'm thinking I need a special tool.
Thanks,
Dean

RE: Tuscon Oil Filter Location
First, what engine (2.0 4-cly or 2.7 V6)? Based on where you say it is, I'm assuming it's the 2.7L V6.
Remember, that engine is used on many different cars and they don't generally move the oil filter location for the different cars. On my Tib, it's in the same place and very easy to get to. My suggestion to you is to use an oil filter strap wrench and access it from the passenger side wheel well instead from under the car.
Hope that helps.

where the oil filters located
if you see the drain bolt its on the passanger side opposite to that is the oil filter you get to that by un doing five 12 mm bolts and 3 fillips head screws and a plastic piece comes off then you should have full access to it.

Tucson 06 diesel oil filter
Oil filter location 06 diesel Tucson looking from top of the engine
She’s down there folks
Just finished oil change on my 06 Tucson. Took me ages to locate oil filter so I thought I might help someone else having the same trouble. Get under the car and remove large plastic sheet about 5 bolts. This reveals the sump plug in the middle easy.
The oil filter is easyish too.
Remove the top plastic cover from the engine. The one that covers the oil filler and dipstick four bolts wasy. Look down the back of the engine to the left hand side near the rear of the cam belt cover. There she is👍 Bit fiddly to get a chain tool round but got there in the end. Note it is screw side down so drain the oil first and it still drips a bit when you get it out
