2008 Elantra Radio Removal - Poor AM Reception
I have google'd looking for how to remove and replace the Radio for a 2008 Hyundai Elantra...No luck
My problem is very poor AM radio reception and I wanted to check the Antenna ground and I may replace the antenna. The Radio works fine, but the AM reception is very poor. The antenna is the flat XM hockey puck on top of the roof. It looks cool, but no AM reception. My Fords pick up AM signals no problem, however, the Fords have Mast Antennas. I wish the Elantra had a quality antenna.
I am sure if I found photos on how to remove the Radio, it would be a DIY project.
From what I have read, there is a "removal tool" but no photos of the "removal tool" and how to use it. If I see the tool I might be able to make one.
Thanks!
DD

Thank you NovaResource I couldn't have asked for a better explanation!
Is it really important to disconnect the negative lead on the battery first?
Is there an "anti-theft" feature that will disable the radio if I remove the radio while power is on?
I'll follow the instructions...thanks again!
