Default Good Year Viva 3 Tire

Will be needing tires probably in about 6 months or so and was wondering about goodyear viva 3 tires I was looking at. They were rated at 60K miles.

Right now the tires on the car are Kumho Solus KH16, there is only 35K on the vehicle so I thought they may be the original but I believe I saw this brand at wally world.

Also the vehicle is a 2010 which kinda tells me they only put about 5K a year on them. They seem a little stiff on the road too, which I thought that seen they may be going on 6 yrs old they have become a little dried out and harder than new rubber would be. There is a little cracking on the sidewall but nothing drastic.

Any thoughts?

Never heard of them. If you're looking for options, I've been very pleased with General Altimax RT-43 tires.

Thanks NovaResource for the suggestions. I believe the viva 3 are made exclusively for WalMart.

WalMart tires? That's scary. I generally get my tires through TireRack.com Great company.

I've wondered how that worked. Do you buy online, then who does the install? Who do you call for the install and who handles warranty?

Thanks

You can find and select an local installer approved by TireRack and the tires get shipped directly to them. Once delivered, you make an appointment for them to get installed and then just drive over.

The warranty is actually handled by a separate company but the process is easy. My daughter hit something on the road that caused a large chunk of rubber to be ripped from the sidewall. I ordered a new tire and had it shipped to the installer. They verified the original tire was damaged and put the call into the warranty company. I then emailed a picture of the tire. The installer mounted the new tire and I got a check in the mail about a week later covering the entire cost of the new tire.

Thanks for the advice. When I get closer to purchasing some new tires I'll have to check them out. Thanks again for all the info.
