You can buy a gap gage at any auto parts store.  There a several types-





To a adjust the gap, you simply bend the ground electrode either in or out just a little until the proper gap (distance between the ground electrode and center electrode) is achieved.  I like to use the type in the middle; set the gap so that the wire with the desired gap can be passed between the two electrodes, but the next larger size cannot.
