Doohickie -> RE: 07 Santa Fe/Extended Warranty/ Worth It?? (11/1/2007 7:07:00 PM)

I looked at it this way: One reason I bought a Hyundai is that it has the longest warranty of any car out there- 5 years, 60,000 miles, bumper-to-bumper. That was one of the differences between that and other cars. I could pay even more to buy an insurance policy to take that out to 100,000 miles, but really....that would take away the cost advantage of buying the Hyundai to begin with. I would do this: get your money back. You can buy the extended warranty any time before the old warranty is up, so why let them have the money ahead of time? That's the way I saw it, anyway. Now, on my wife's Taurus, we decided to buy the warranty. That only had a 36k warranty though, and just recently we used the warranty, at 90,000 miles. We used it once or twice already. But even with that, we still haven't gotten our money back yet.
