In my owners manual it states that if the automatic seat memory "auto" button is on, the drivers seat should move back to give you more room to exit when you remove the key and forward when you insert it. May be I am doing it wrong but I cant get it to do this. Any help out there?

put the parking brake ON.

Ummm ... I gotta admit I was gonna ask the same question and came across this post.  Just got a used 2004 xg and had no clue about the parking brake.
