how hard would it be to convert from a standard to auto with a whole donor parts car?

I think you would need to remove the main harness from the donor car and move it into the other car, although I'm not 100% sure... and probably the PCM as well.

Also, it would help a lot if the cars are from the same era (i.e., both are 01-03 or both are 04-06) because of the changes made between the 03 and 04 model years (particularly the CVVT on the engine).  What years are the two cars?

It would be an interesting project, but make sure you have a lot of time and a good garage to work in!

both are 99 elantras but the donor is a wagon so theyre basically the same....we'd need to e able to do it quick though

I'm guessing if you've done a similar swap it's possible, but knowing me it would take longer than that if I tried it.
