Hey guys, any help on this is appreciated:
I revently got an 01 Sonata automatic, and about two months in Ive noticed its shifting bad- it locks up at 5x rpms until I take my foot off the pedal, than it switches to the next gear. Also, on the third gear it jumps awkwardly to 4-5x rpms the moment it switches, almost like its slipping and going right back to second.
I had a similar problem on my focus and all that needed was an oil change, but this seems worse. Any ideas?
Thanks Again

Have the trans fluid serviced first and go from there.
Contaminated fluid can cause the symptons you are describing.

Get that checked out first- could be a Throttle Position Sensor or an Output Speed Sensor. What you DON'T want to see is DTC P0734...........that's badness.

Got it checked yesterday-they said no check engine light came on for them and the diagnostic revealed no error codes.
So it seems the trans fluid is the culprit.right?

Maybe..... don't get your hopes up, though. You might try getting a priest to bless the new transmission fluid before you put it in.

Good luck!!

How many miles are on the car?
If more than 60k... its time for a trans service without a doubt.
