I own a 2006 Hyndai Sonata V6, it has approximately 36K miles on the odometer. I am the second owner I purchased it with 33K miles on it. I've owned the vehicle since May 07 and haven't had any problems with it until last night. I drove to work and back (only about 1-2 miles total) with no problems. I let my friend use my car to pickup something at walmart and now the transmission is acting strange. When I put my car in Drive and proceed to accelerate I get to about 10mph and the D on the dashboard gear indicator turns into a D1 and the car seems to stay in 1st gear. When it first happened I assumed I bumped the Auto-Stick feature and didn't realize it, but that was not the case. The car will stay in first gear no matter what I do in the Automatic setting. I was seriously bummed when this happens since I baby the car and only drive a few miles a day max. I experimented with the Auto-stick feature and I could manage to get it to shift into second only momentarily. Im seriously hoping this is a simple fix (IE electronic problem, instead of mechanical). If anyone has any advice or recommendations I would seriously appreciate it. I'm a Solider and I don't make much money so I surely hope this is covered under the second owner warranty. Thanks, -Mike

Please folks Im in serious need of some advice.. Is this something that the 5yr/50k mile warranty would cover? Has anyone ever seen this before? The dealership isn't that far away I might be able to limp there, but is there anything in Hyundai's warranty that allows me to have a tow-truck pick my vehicle up? Any info will help. Thanks, -Mike
