My car is pulling to the right after someon ran into my front fender and have seen several articles about doing it yourself alignment. I think I can determine how far the toe is out of alignment but I'm not really sure I know how to properly adjust this. I've read I can simply adjust the tie rods equally on each side. Has anyone done this before? I have an 06 Elantra
I don't mean to sound like a nay-sayer but you may be wasting your time.
The reason is that alignments are used to fix small increments. If your car is out of alignment due to an accident, your frame is probably out of whack or the car that hit yours might have bent other components that don't look bent to the naked eye.
You'd be better off taking it to a reputable body shop that has a frame alignment tool and see what they say first.
The reason I know this is because I used to have friend who was a manager at a local auto shop and a guy came in who was in a wreck as well. He could have taken his money and if the alignment didn't work then say "oh well, we tried", but he's an honest guy and didn't want to do that. He sent him to a body shop.
