my 1999 hyundai elantra has a problem of stalling after it has been driven for only a short time. after i let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes, it will then start back up but it only goes a short distance and dies again. i have recently had the catalytic converter,the timing belt,cam bearing, and another bearing,also the fuel filter replaced,the car ran for about 2 weeks after the repairs were made and then this problem occured. i was told to change the ignition coil, i did and this is not the solution.prior to all the other repairs mentioned i had a new alternator, battery, plugs, wires, and all other belts replaced. can anybody assist me in what the problem is this time?

Hi,

Just reading your message and I'm intrigued as to the circumstances of the repair work carried out.

What happened to the cam & other bearings? Everything else seems to be reaonable wear and tear. Has the engine had less than favourable servicing or were all the bearings faulty?

From the sound of things it sounds like you may about 60,000miles or 100,000klm on the clock.

Who is giving you advice? Speak to "hyundai-tech" on this forum, although he'll rightly suggest getting it diagnosed at an authorised dealership. The person you've been getting advice doesn't seem to be able to access this type of diagnostic data.

Obviously, you have checked all the obvious, but maybe not, things like battery connections. Is your battery up to scratch? Have you reset your ecu?

You've obviously spent some money by now so why not get it sorted properly.

Get practical help. Ask Hyundai in your country which delership they recommend for servicing and repairs in your local area.

I recently had the same type of problem with my 98 Accent 1.5. The car would run and then cut out. Wait 5-20 min and then start again just as easy.

At home, let you car idle for a while, 5,10,15-30 min. See if the cars cutts out after a while of standing and idling. If this happens, it might also be that you have a sensor on the ignition system that is intermittendly not giving signal through.

In my case it was what the tech called a "cranck angle sensor" located close to the flywheel where engine and trans is connected, just below the exaust manifold. The sensor was replaced and the problem solved.

what about O B D report from your service center ;and after operating teprathure what is the fuel pressure reading. please make sure these parameters are normal ,,,
