I would like to remove the radio from my 2007 Sante Fe in order to install a mount for a satellite radio.  I have hook tools but don't know what or how to remove the components to get to the radio mounts.  Does anyone know the steps for removing the radio?

remove the coin tray, remove 2 screws then use hook tool and pull on lower piece of console. when removed then remove 2 more screws from under the upper piece.

I don't have a coin tray.  This is the upgraded Infinity radio with the speaker in the top of the dash.  Below the radio is the automatic heating/air conditioning controls.  Below that is an ashtray that pops out when you press in the tray.  I don't see how the ashtray comes out as there isn't a release in plain view.

On the sides of the radio are a/c vents.  I've tried pulling those out with hook tools, but they also don't want to release.  I have to say, this is the most well secured dash I have ever seen in a car.

Goto the Hyundai service site:

http://www.hmaservice.com/

You will have to register and login.  Click on the "Shop" option on the left hand side.  You'll get a screen with the option boxes in the upper left.  Select you vehicle model, year and engine (I'll assume the 2.7L V6).  Drill down through the menus:

G 2.7 V6 DOHC
   => Body (Interior and Exterior)
      => Interior
         => Crash Pad
            => Repair Procedures

Step-by-step instruction for taking the whole dash apart.  I guess you'll need to look at the graphics in mirror for you right hand drive version.

Try clicking on the site requirements button on the initial screen.  There are 3 viewers needed for viewing the site, I'm guessing you'll need the SVG viewer at the vert least.  Yes, it sort of touchy.  Yes, I guess the site could be IP filtering non-US users, but I'm just a user myself.

Not an expert, but on my Santa Fe there is a coin tray over the radio with two screws, there are two screws in each side of the radio facia accessed by tilting the vents and the woodgrain trim below the radio needs to be unclipped.

The radio/dash facia clips of the radio to reveal the mounting bracket screws on both sides of the radio.

Cheers Ray
