IS THE BELT STILL ON THE CAR? NOT SOUND DUMB, BUT WAS THE CAR RUNNING ROUGH? IF IT WASN'T, MOST LIKELY THE TIMING IS OK. BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO IF THE BELT IS STILL ON THE CAR REMOVE NUMBER 1 SPARK PLUG, INSTALL PAPER TOWEL, ROTATE ENGINE UNTIL IT POPS OUT THEN YOU KNOW THAT'S TOP DEAD CENTER, THEN PUT A LONG SCREW DRIVER IN THE SPARK PLUG HOLE. ROTATE THE ENGINE AND WATCH THE SCREW DRIVER, IF IT GOES DOWN STOP, GO THE NEXT WAY UNTIL IT STAYS AT THE TOP. BASICALLY YOU CAN TURN THE CRANK CLOCKWISE OR COUNTER CLOCKWISE, WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS WHEN THE PISTON IS AT IT'S FULL LENGTH OF TRAVEL SO IF IT'S GOING DOWN YOU KNOW TO STOP. THAT SHOULD BE WHERE YOU TIMING MARKS ARE AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO REPLACE YOU BELT.[image]http://www.hyundaiforum.com/micons/m11.gif[/image]
