The only way I can get the Radiator Fan to come on is if I turn the ac on. They both will come on but the one won't by itself. Gonna check the relays but figured i'd ask first. Any ideas??

well the radiator fan is not going to come on unless the car starts to get hot or the a/c is on as you already know that. what tells the ecu to turn on the fan is the coolant temp sensor. if it's bad the fan will not come on. thinking about what your problem might be leads to faulty coolant temp sensor cause if you had a relay problem it wouldn't have come on when you turn the a/c on. does the car overheat?

Yes, the car does overheat all of the time. It ruined the radiator and I replaced it with a brand new one. I also, checked the thermostat and it is good. So, you think it just might be the temperature sensor?

no i don't think it's the temp sensor, i know it's the temp sensor located close to the thermostat housing.

I'm taking my radiator back and exchanging it for a new one. The new one I just bought was defective. As for the Coolant Sensor. I am going to buy a new one and replacing the water pump as well.

I also have an Escort and had a similar problem.  It turned out to be the relays.  But if the relays are bad, the fans will never come on, even if the AC is turned on.  In your case it looks like maybe it is the temp sensor.

One thing to consider, though, if you can't get the sensor fixed right away (or it turns out that it's something else):  If you can't get it fixed properly right away, you can ground the relays so they are always on so the fans always run.  It's not good to run the engine too cool all the time, but it's better than overheating!

(That's what I did when I was working on the Escort until I could get it all fixed.)

well you know replacing the water pump you are going to go in timing belt territory, so you might as well just get yourself the timing belt also.
