Generally, extended warranties only make money for the warranty companies. One reason I went with Hyundai is that their factory warranty is so much longer than other automakers have. Also, an extended warranty is only going to come into play if you really plan on keeping the vehicle a long time or putting a lot of miles on it. The last two Fords I bought, an Escort and a Taurus, I bought the extended warranty. We used it some on the Escort but I don't think we got our money back. So far the Taurus is up to 93,000 miles (with a 100k extended warranty) and we've had one ball joint replaced; that's it.
If you want to spend some money to ensure your Hyundai will last, don't worry so much about extended warranties. Instead, make sure you do all the recommended vehicle maintenance, especially oil changes, transmission flushes and coolant flushes, and stay on top of any irregularities your car develops.
