i kind of have a small dilema when it comes to this tiburon i want.

the car was in standing water and restored but there is a knocking niose in the engine.

its a 2003 gt v6 with a manual, 65000 miles for $4900 obo.

do any of you have any suggestions as to what might be the problem and if i should buy it.

Run away.  Even though it sounds like a good deal, standing water will lead to electrical issues down the road as the contacts in the connectors corrode.

don't do it dude. water can cause so many problems, besides electrical. there could be water in the frame. a few yrs down the road the frame can become complete junk. and if the engine has a knock, then its probably still the same engine that was in the water and unless you feel like spending an extra 1000-1500 for a used engine, i wouldn't do it. never buy a water salvaged car. keep looking is my advice. one more thing, the 03's were the the first of the 3rd generation, still having problems. look for either, the older 01, or 05+, the 01's have potential, but nothing beats a v6, so many upgrades out there and a lot of knowlegable people. good luck
