scapmando -> Help - 2004 sonata knocking (1/9/2008 5:46:22 PM)
Wife just called from work about 30 miles away. Car is knocking making a bad noise. No alert lights to speak of. Oil changed about 10 days ago with a few hundred miles added since. timing belt about 5 k miles ago. Car has 65k miles on it. 6 clyinder. Any help appreciated. will check back later as i am driving to car to inspect. Thanks
sound was coming from the power steering pump...howling, clicking sound. fluid level normal but burn smell. steering seemed normal. drove it home for further inspection tommorow.
where did you get the oil changed at? did the noise vary with engine speed? at idle is it louder when turning steering? what year is it? the power steering return line is known for leaking on models up to 05.
