Hi all,

I'm a new memeber and have recently bought a 2000 Hyundai Elantra sedan.  I love the car.  It's fun to drive and handles great.  I'm  currenty going about 300 kms when I fill up 40 litres which translates to roughly 13.3 litres/ 100 kms.  I'm wondering if I switched from 195/60r14 tires to 185/65r14 would I get a little better gas mileage.  Yes I monitor my tire pressure regularly and keep it at 30 psi as per door plate instructions.  All the cars with better fuel economy have 185/65r14 or even 175/65 r14.  Any feedback or suggestions....

Thank you all in advance and I look forward toh hearing what you all think...

A thinner tire should give less rolling resistance; I'm a good negative example of that right now.  My 05 Elantra came with stock 195/60R15 tires.  When I went to wider 225/50R15s I saw a noticeable hit to my fuel economy.
