I'm driving a '96 Accent, 5-speed and have well over 100k miles
clocked.  At what milage should I expect the clutch to burn
out?  I don't "ride" the clutch, btw.

Your clutch will not "burn-out" as you say, but it will start slipping a little here and there in the beginning.  Do not worry about the clutch at this point if there are no signs of slippage. 


What you can do is locate a replacement.  Try to get a "better" clutch and pressure plate.  What I mean by better, try to source one out from the better manufacturers of clutches, like ACT, Unorthodox racing and check this one out: http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/default.asp?NoTrack=0&Br andCd=HPF&SubCategoryCd=DISK


Hyundais are a lot of fun and very good quality vehicles, you just have to perform the required maintenance that's all...

So far 185K on my 95 Accent original clutch. Watch for soft pedal after sitting for a while (like first clutch actuation in 48 hours at start-up) Sludge builds up in the master and slave cylinders, and in the line between, I needed to replace those components at about 150K. Not dangerous, probably, but aggravating after a while. Still on original clutch, though.

hello, I have a 95 accent and the clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor without any pressure at all. I'm thinking that it is the slave cylinder and if not that the master cylinder. Do you guys have any tips for when I go to replace these (diagrams?) ? Thanks!

i have been running my 95 for awhile now, original clutch, 120000 miles and i have no problems with my clutch at all.
