Hi,

I have a 2003 Santa Fe and I am having problems with the drivers wiper arm coming loose.
The passenger side has always worked fine, but the drivers side sometimes does not move.
I tightened the cap nut and that worked for awhile and then it again stopped moving.
I don't know if the wiper arm is being held secure just by the metal cap nut or if there is supposed to be a rubber washer between the arm and the nut to create some friction to hold the wiper arm secure.  I tried to pull the arm off with the cap nut removed, but the arm seems to be held on someway, but even though it is held on, it still is free to move around if the cap nut is not tight.
I do not want to over tighten it and possibly break off the stud.  Let me know what to do next.

Thanks,
Blackhawk

buy a new one, the grids in the wiper arm where it bolts to the motor linkage are worn. if you remove it you will see it's just shine and smooth.

There were no teeth on the arm and no teeth on the stud.
Do I need to replace both components?
Do I need to go to the dealer to get these parts or are they available elsewhere?

i would recommend trying replacing the arm first then if it slips then you know you will have to replace the linkage assy. the only place i know of getting them from would be the dealership.
