Hi. I recently backed my 2006 Sonata V6 into a low concrete block retaining wall while slowly backing out of a tight parking space.

I now have a u-shaped tear in my rear bumper cover. It's about 3" x 4" area torn and folded slightly inward, with a flap on one side. I can see the black foam bumper cushioning material behind it.

I'm pretty decent with fiberglass repair, and I want to try to patch the tear myself before I spend the nearly $ 800 dollars I was quoted for a new bumper skin (cost $ 380) and replace/paint/finish work (cost $400). I think I can do a good job repairing from the inside out, but I have to get it off the car first.

My question: how do I remove the flexible rear bumper cover?
