3 years ago I purchased a 2006 brand Sonata Limited with 6 CD MP3 CD changer. I never worked as it suppose to, time to time my MP3 CD's would get stuck and the player would mulfunction. So after about 10K I brought it for a warranty repairs to Poway Auto Group dealer (where I purchased the car to begin with) and they replaced the CD changer with a refurbished unit without letting me know, which started doing the same thing as the replaced unit. In either case, the Hyundai is refusing to replace it because I am pass 36K but still within a 60K year warranty.
I am going to make sure that I post my experience everywhere there are people that are looking for an honost opinion about the Hundai's service.

quote:

5 YEAR / 60,000 MILES
NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY Covers nearly every new vehicle component

Covers repair or replacement of any component manufactured or originally installed by Hyundai that is defective in material or factory workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.

Following components covered for time and mileage limits indicated:
- Radio And Sound Systems (i.e. radio, cassette tape drive mechanism, and compact disc player): 3 years / 36,000 miles
- Paint: 3 years/ 36,000 miles
- Battery: 3 years / unlimited miles (100% covered 2 years / unlimited miles; after 2 years and within 3 years, 25% cost of battery and 100% labor cost covered)
- Air Conditioner Refrigerant Charge: 1 year / unlimited miles
- Adjustments: 1 year / 12,000 miles
- Wear Items: 1 year / 12,000 miles (e.g. belts, brake pads & linings, clutch linings, filters, wiper blades, bulbs, fuses)

Not everything on the car is covered for 5 years/60,000 miles by the new car warrenty.  The audio system is covered for only 3 years/36,000 miles as you found out.  People need to read the details of their warrenties when they purchase the car.  I think you do have a beef with the dealer over his use of a refurbished unit to repair the initial problem.  I'd dig into the owners manual and call Hyundai's National Customer Service Number to complain about that issue.

I bought my Azera from Heller in Escondido.  I have no complaint against their repair dept, but I think their sales dept is a bunch of chimps.  They wouldn't program my door locks without charging me for it.  OTOH, Poway Hyundai did it for free even though I didn't buy the car from them.  I plan to do any service I do with the Poway dealership.  At the same time, I hope to never set foot in any dealer's maintenance shop.

Is a "Sandy Eggo" anything like a stale, gritty waffle?
