I have a 2002 Accent with top end engine noise. It's most likely a Bent vavle,  worn rocker arm or lifter. The real question is how much life would this car have left it has 73k on the car with passenger damage to the passenger fender and door. I was thinking of buying a salvaged accent and swaping good parts for bad maybe. the other thing is the timing belt is original. I got a price to replace the belt at 150 + parts any advice would be greatly appreciated.

P.S the car  had about 35k when the first time the oil filter was changed, I belive and it ran with little oil for a week or two. my girlfriend didn't like to change the oil I guess

I think this car is a perfect candidate for a radiator cap transplant.

1) Park the car on level ground.

2) Open the hood and remove the radiator cap.

3) Have someone replace the car with another one that just happens to have it's radiator cap missing.

4) Place the cap in your hand on the radiator of the new car.

5) Close the hood and drive away.

It's your choice whether the girl freind is sitting in the old car when it's removed.. or not.
