Try pressing the lock button on the fob twice.  The locks should set on the first press, the horn should honk on the second.  On my Sonata, the parking lights flash when the locks set and when the unlock button is pressed, but no little "beep beep" like you see in car commercials or the movies.  Now that I think about, of the 7 or so cars that I or my kids have driven with keyless entry, none made a noise when locked other than the click of the locksets.

Hi there,

The car does not make any sort of bleep.  Having Sold many Hyundais I can say that none do.  All that you get when you press the key fob is the clunking of the locks and the indicator lights flash twice.  When unlocking the lights flash once.  Hope this calms ya worries.

Not totally true.  Many Hyundais (usually 2005-up) will beep on a second press of the remote.  If you only press it once it just locks the doors and flashes the lights but a second press (with about a 1/2 second pause between presses) will cause a beep of the horn.

I learned a few months ago on my Mazda that the lights won't flash if one door isn't totally closed. A nice reminder, I think it's this way with all or nearly all cars with remote keyless entry.

With regard to the survey, many years of the Elantra are getting close to the minimum needed to be included.

For the details, and to help get your model year included:
