This car has a hydraulic actuating clutch mechanism, which is totally self-adjusting for wear. About the only thing you can do is make sure the fluid level in the resevoir on the master cylinder is kept up. If the fluid level is very low, you might consider having the line between the master and slave cylinders bleed to remove any errant air bubbles and see if the engagement distance improves. You didn't say how many miles were on the car, but it sounds like the clutch disk and pressure plate have started to wear beyond the point that the hydraulic clutch can adequately compensate for. You may be looking at a new clutch in near future.
