Hi, Yes good point. Personally:25 years and 10 vehicles: Not Once (Who knows? Have blown two wheel cylinders one my very first vehicle at the end of an emergency stop. A couple of "what ifs..." crossed my mind.) Obviously, it's very easy to check these items routinely and fix them immediately. I can't think of too many reasons why you would have a leaky reservoir for any other reasons other than mishandling or manhandling. It certainly shouldn't be made into a long term issue in the car either. Any wheel cylinder related fluid losses would be obvious to cursory exam as well. If you know that either the reservoir or wheel cylinder is damaged, isn't it better to fix the damaged one, or get someone else to? They are both really straight-forward jobs that are well within scope of most peoples ability. Cheers, Andrew
