The engine won't rev over 3500 rpm,has problem going uphill, the fuel pump has 50 ft/pds, spark plugs are white, throttle sensor unit is withing specs. The symptom sounds like a fuel pump but it is 50 ft/pds and will drop to 35 ft/pds after 30 minutes any suggestions please. Thanks

Have you replaced the filter. Since no expert has yet responded, my guess is the best I can offer. Are these static pressure readings or are they being measured while you drive? I don't know the proper fuel PSI for your car, but If the filter is clogged the actual pressure may drop when the fuel is flowing under road conditions. I'm sure there is also a pressure regulator that could be suspect too.

Like I said, generic wild guess since I know nothing about your car. If I did, I could look up those sorts of things.

I see this is a two week old thread, so If you've fixed it, please help all of us other forum members and tell us what it was.

Aw man I missed that one... and it happened to me once too, on my old Monte Carlo. Duh.

Thanks for getting back to us. If members get in the habit of doing that, this forum can become a great help to everyone.
