bernd -> 97 Elantra Oil Pan (4/20/2008 1:17:04 PM)
|
I'm rehabbing a 97 Elantra. I've noticed that the oil pan is quite rusty, and now seems to be leaking oil from somewhere near the bottom of the pan. I'm wondering how big a job replacing the pan is... I see an exhaust pipe has to be removed, and the cross member. Is the engine mount on the top of the cross member an issue to remove? I'm already in the middle of the timing belt/water pump combo. I am considering degreasing the pan throughly and cold welding it, but the rust looks pretty bad. Thanks! (and no, I can't view the hma service site.. I can't view the 'terms & agreements' page to register)
