I'm planning to replace the cassette player with an original cd player on a 2001 Accent.
I'm scared about breaking something in the process.
Any hints?
Thanks!

very helpful, and then pay more than the stereo costs to install it.
don't worry, I've already found out how.

... changing a stereo is easier then changing oil... you take off the plastic bezel around the radio, pull the radio out, up plug it, plug the new one in, put it in place, replace bezel, drink beer, listen to music.    told ya, easy

I'm not familiar with the Accent... On the Elantra you have to take off the whole dash fascia which sounds scary, but it's really a lot easier than it sounds.  I say go for it.  If you have any more specific instructions for doing it, seiken, that would be helpful (is there a certain way to pull the bezel off to make sure it won't break... that sort of thing).

Also, I did a writeup for the Elantra over on Edmunds.  Some of the stuff, like the wiring and how to hook up the adapter harness, should help with an Accent install.  Here's a link ot that:  http://www.carspace.com/guides/2001-06-Hyundai-Elantra-Audio-Guide
