    Hi!
This is my first post to this site and i wish the very best to all of you.
   In my 1999 Accent 1,5 GLS SOHC , manual transm. Check engine light does not work when i turn the ignition key on,or even the engine starts.I bought a car one month ago,and i don`t know anything about the history of my car.I checked the light bulbs , they are OK,checked the conections,but nothing ...Any sugestions,please?

Have the computer scanned with an OBD-II scanner.  It will tell you if the light should be on and if there is a problem with the CEL circuit.

Thank You for fast replying.
   I do not scan my computer,but I figured that check engine light must work when I turn the ignition switch on-this function checks the light bulbs.Other bulbs works fine,but CEL(MIL) do not.Do you know where on computer is CEL(MIL) conected to check the conection.Btw,my profession is electronics and i have some expiriences with car electronic.Can You help me?

No, what I'm saying is there may be a problem with the computer that makes the light go on or off.  Connecting the scanner will check that.  I would get the compter scanned first.  Most auto parts stores will check the codes for free.

Yep, check for the following code:
P0650 = Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit Malfunction
