Me again,

Ok guys, the clock on my dash displays but the buttons don't set it. I was looking through the fuses, and there is a clip like piece that's missing from the spot that says it's for the clock. Could that be what's keeping the buttons from working on the clock?

Are talking about fuse #14 in the passenger compartment?  That also provides power to the radio (assuming you have a stock radio or an aftermarket radio wired into the original harness) and I don't recall you mentioning the radio not working.  From the schematics, I could not find another clock connection in the fuse box like you describe.  Let the forum know if it has a designation. 

I have been digging around a bit.  The Hyundai service site has almost no information about the clocks in this vintage of the Accent.  It's almost like documenting the clock was an afterthought.  I did find the wiring schemetic (see attachment).  The schematic indicates the clock also gets power through the "room lamp" and "audio" fuses found in the engine compartment box.  Room lamp is the dome light inside the car.  I'd check both those fuses as well as #14 in the passenger compartment.

It suggests that non-responsive buttons indicate the clock is bad and needs to be replaced.  I checked my Sonata's owner's manual (it has a 3 button clock), but there is no mention about buttons not responding.

Not much help but I wish you luck in resolving the problem.

Well, if you open the cabin fuse bay on an '00 and pull a random fuse out, you should see a orange-ish plastic piece running up and down, with metal in where the fuse metal connects. I can't think of how to describe it, so I'm going to draw it:

"A" is the metal connector, "B" is the orange-ish plastic piece runing up and down. A & B point down to the spots where they are on the drawing.

#14, 15 & 16 are missing the orange-ish piece ("B") that holds the metal connector ("A") that makes contact with the fuse.

The strange thing is that the radio and clock both work, just the buttons on the clock don't set it. It's a mute point now though, I've bought a stereo that plays something called a "CD" in it, and it has a clock on the front that you can "set" to the "current time". So this thread is resolved!

To be honest, I was scratching my head a bit.  So long as the problem is resolved, especially without using olive oil, boiling water, acid or bs, I'm glad for you.

i think the sensors on the buttins are just cheap cuase the same thing happened to mine too. the clock works but the buttons don't set it. they must jus be cheaply made clocks, (changed my stereo too)

still it is a shame.

For what it's worth...

I saw the stereo guy installing it and how he got the center console off - when he took the plug off the clock to do the work, then plugged it back in, the clock re-started at 1:00. Soooooo.... I'm going to pop it off and unplug it at 12:59. The only thing holding it in are 2 screws behind the cup holder and a few clips.

Then I'll have 2 clocks!

Sorry sir, I don't quite understand your logic behind this statement, please explain? Because I feel you are knocking something you havn't tried.
