Hi guys, I''ve owned a used 2006 Hyundai GLS now for about 5 months, love the car just wish the fuel mileage was a bit better. With gas prices the way they are, and me only working part time, I''ve been trying to save gas, my top highway speed is now 60 MPH, I put 40 PSI in my tires, I skip the drive thrus and go inside, I often coast in neautral coming to a stop light, and accelerate as slow as I can you can call me a hypermiler. Straight highway, If I clear the trip computer I get 34 MPG at 60 with the AC on, mixed its about 30-32 MPG. I changed my air filter a short while ago, I have my oil changed at the dealer, currently have around 31k miles I''m doing for a tranny service soon. The car has great power and a great set of brakes, I''ve personally topped 140 in my Sonata just for kicks. What type of fuel mileage do you get with yours? Some times I''m kinda regretting not getting the V6, if I would have bought the car today I would have probably gone for a 4 cylinder, but 5 months ago gas was high but my expectations on fuel economy were good and I had no clue the gas prices were going to climb this high. I would love to drive the car and great gas mileage, but for a 6 cylinder you have to play nice to get the mileage out of it. Ive considered using 5W20 synthetic, but I have one more free oil change from the dealer, I believe they use Quaker state dino 5w30 bulk.
