I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent 1.6 L. The car had power to it but would not turn over. The battery seemed dead. Tried to jumper it and even replaced the battery.
All I get is a clicking noise for about 2 seconds and then it quits without turning over. I know there is plenty of power in the battery as it is brand new. Usually this is a tell tale sign of starter trouble. But I have heard Hyundai''s don''t usually have starter problems.

Thoughts?

Are the battery cables in good shape and clean?

Yep, they are clean.

I looked at the starter and the alternator and I can see I have my work cut out for me if either one is the cause.

I just hope this is something cheap and easy to fix, though...

Problem solved. I looked in the positive terminal cap and there was a TON of corrosion in there.
Cleaned the hell out of it and- BAM!- fixed!

Goes to show that these newer cars are fickle beasts indeed!

Like I said, clean battery cables are important.  Glad it was an easy fix.
