Hi, I just bought an 08 Tiburon with the Kenwood sound system. My question is this. Since the Kenwood is obviously a 1 DIN unit can I fit a 2 DIN Head in it''s place since there seems to be an empty 1 DIN blank right below it? I don''t really want to take everything apart to find out. Just wondering if anyone has looked to see if there is, in fact, empty space behind the blank?

Yes, the standard HU for the Tib is a 2 DIN:

I''ve also got a ''08 Tiburon. I installed an Alpine IVA-W505. Fits great. You will need a dash kit, recommend using a Metra kit.
If you decide to continue using the XM kit thats mounted in the pocket below the head unit, it will need to be relocated. There''s still room behind the dash for a nice tight fit.

FYI...In relation to the comment about the Kenwood factory sound system. The speakers are your normal factory paper cone type. I was mad because Sales Rep swore they were Kenwood. I just finished my complete system with everything JL Audio.
6.75in. ZR''s in the front and VR 6x9''s in rear. 450/4 running speakers. 2 8" w7''s in custom sealed box ran by 1000/1. JL wiring and lots of Dynamat.
