I read in the Sante Fe forum that the dealer can program the doors to lock at a specified speed (5, 10 mph, etc). Has anyone had this done to their Tucson? I have a 2005. Thanks, Duncan

I read in the Sante Fe forum that the dealer can program the doors to lock at a specified speed (5, 10 mph, etc). Has anyone had this done to their Tucson? I have a 2005. The feature is called "Speed Sensing Auto Door Locking". I thought Hyundai offered the speed sensing automatic door locks across the entire product line, but I may be wrong. I checked the owners manuals of both Santa Fe and Tucson SUV models from 2005 to 2009. There is no mention that this feature is available on either model. Manuals for the Sonata do specifically mention it. I do know the auto door locks have to be activated by the dealer, so perhaps this is a undocumented feature on the Sante Fe and Tucson. I suggest you call the service manager at your dealership and ask the question. Out of curiosity, I checked the OM for the Azera and Veracruz SUV. Both use the more conventional fashion of locking/unlocking the doors when the shift lever is moved out of and into the Park position, but have the speed sensing feature as well.
