2008 Accent GS Auto trans Date Purchased: 8-19-08 Odometer Miles: 434 The transmission shifts very smoothly going from 1st gear to 2nd to 3rd to 4th. I think there is, however, a problem with the transmission going into 1st gear that I have noticed during the last 100 miles or so. Fluid level is ok. After backing in reverse gear, then stopping, then moving the shift lever into the drive position, the transmission will delay going into 1st gear and when it goes into 1st gear it will do so with a jolt and a thud. Some of the time the accelerator pedal must be pressed gently to increase engine rpm slightly above idle to get the transmission to go into 1st gear. The transmission does the above more severely when the engine and transmission are cold, but it also does it after the vehicle is at operating temperature, just less severely. Do I need to take the car in to have this problem looked at by the service department?
