Ok need some serious help with my daughters hyundai. The car seems to have no 2nd gear and no reverse. You can accelerate in 1st but you need to get the rpm's way up there before it will slam into 2nd or 3rd, whichever, chirping the tires and then it won't upshift anymore. Also like I said there is no reverse. These both started at the same time. the fluid is fine. Please someone tell me that this is an easy fix and won't cost me more then the cars worth. Thanks yall for your help.

Sounds like your tranny is going. I can't think of an easy fix or a small problem thatwould cause that problem. Sounds like the whole things going.

Before going to the extreme, get the transmission flushed out real good and have it's filter changed. This would be much cheaper then talking about tranny replacement. However, if you decide to flush the trans, make sure the fluid is comprable to what Hyundai uses. Good Luck!!

Brant is right , sorry about that I don't know what I was thinking, I am used to manual transmissions. Try the flush and filter change that very well may be the issue, however if you have no success there then things are looking pretty grim.
