I have a 1993 Hyundai Excel. My daughter ran out of gas. I out gas in it and it would start then die. Now it won't start at all. I replaced the fuel filter but it will still not start. It was Zero degress. But now it is in the high 30's and still won't start. Any ideas?

heres one theroy:
when your daughter ran out of gas, the fuel pump pumped the bottom of the gas tank (which usually has some deposites on the bottom) into the fuel lines/rail/injectors. this most likely clogged the fuel system. what do your spark plugs look like?
the remedy to this i am not sure of. possibly have the entire fuel system checked out. some of this you can do yourself. try a bottle of gas dry (gas water dryer $1.99) it cant hurt
hope this helped.
ill ask around the dealership i work for and see if i can come up with something to help you out.

another thing you might want to check is the ecm it's located under the dash left of the steering column remove it take the 4 bolt off the inspection cover and see if theres any visual burnes alot of 94 excels are having computer problems and are very visual when they go out this way if that is your problem your not investing a fortune on everything else .........

The most likely source of the problem is the fuel system got clooged with sedement. Your fuel pump may have burnt out, that's a possibility. When it comes to checking your gas lines it is simple. Find the hard line to the fuel rail and disconnect it, follow it back to the tank and disconnect it there as well. Take an air compressor and blow out the lines. If nothing comes out then have somebody feel the open end of the hose for air. Another possibility is that you gummed up your injectors. Whatever the Problem I would be willing to bet that it is all in the fuel system.
