The last 3 times I've gotten gas my Accent won't start, after cranking the engine a bunch of times I finally stepped on the gas while cranking and then it comes to life. Only while at the actual gas station do I have this problem, it turns on fine the rest of the time. My check engine light is on, and it's going in tomorrow but I wanted to see if anyone else had this problem? The Hyundai service guy didn't have ideas on what it might be over the phone.

Thanks.

I haven't had this problem, I can name a ton of things that may cause it, but can't really help. Let us know what the shop says.

It was a bad purge valve. It was stuck open and that allowed vapors from the tank to be forced into the intake manifold during fill-up.

Glad you got it fixed.
Mine used to do some missing and sputtering after filling with gas but I was in the habit of topping it right to the top or at least to an even dollar.
I was told to never do that but to stop filling as soon as the automatic shut off at the pump stopped the flow.
I have never had a problem that way since and it gives me extra coffee money change in my pocket.
W.Y.
