hey, i bought a hyandai coupe se 2 litre about 3 months ago and have had nothing but trouble, from oil leaks to seized breaks, plus the garage i bought if of has been no help whatsoever.
i was driving my car today and all of a sudden i got this loud, deep noise from what sounds to be coming from the front wheel area, if any one could shed some light onto this i would be grateful. not very mechanically minded so my descriptions etc might not be that great.
many thanks x

check your auto wheels if they are properly mounted on your car. or maybe there's something that went on under while you are driving. have you checked them after? manual checking is better.

thanks for reply,
had it checked at a garage and its the calipers apparently they are bit dodgy, so need to replace them, costly i would imagine. also needs wheel bearings.
are there any places online that give good quotes for items such as calipers?

hiya your not gonna believe this but i maybe of some help, i take it you have an f2 coupe ,  you know the one with the flashing clock??? heres a breakdown of some of the work and prices i have had done very recently within the last 2 weeks , i will however state these prices were done as cheap as i could possibly afford im no ceapskate , just prefer to spend my money on better thingd than 50 quid an hour mechanics charges....and in the case of the brakes i negotiated the price down... did you know all these garages that claim to beat anybodys price will do this, all you have to do is let them price it up then tell them its to dear... and you have been quoted cheaper, believe me they wont want to see you walk out the door, better still phone them, phone loads , you will be surprised how much difference in price there is... anyway the prices.....

set of two front wheel brake discs and brakes £140.00 fitted (they wanted 160.00)
one front brake caliper fitted £120.00 (they wanted (145.00)
a rear wheel bearing fitted shouldnt cost you anymore than £190.00 though i had mine done by a mobile mechanic for £140.00
theres another piece of advice , try mobile mechanics, for two reasons , you dont have to take time off of work and lose money, they will come and do it in the car park, secondly there hourly rate is often less than a garage because they dont have the overheads... the one i use is around half the hourly rate
well i hope i have been of some use to you
go steady ....neil
