Hello, I noticed my speedometer and odomter were showing blank readings one day during a road trip. I searched the fuse panel and noticed the fuse for the "cluster" was burnt (bad fuse maybe?!).

What is the consequence of driving my vehicle without a working odometer? I'm sure it's frowned upon by the manufacturer and dealer because I don't think the odometer reading went up during those 50 or 80 kms before I noticed and so the reading is out. Shouldn't the engine light keep track of a circuit problem like this? Is the true odometer reading kept inside the computer? Can I rematch the two so I don't trip any diagnostic red flags? Is there a way to check the diagnostics without paying an arm and a leg?

Any guidance or assistance would be appreciated! My warranty expired a while back so getting the circuit looked at under warranty isn't possible unfortunately :-(

It's a 2001 Santa Fe 2WD

Thanks!
