I have a 2000 Hyndai Accent and it is running rough. I took it out last night and it would only go 20 mph. The check engine light flashed the whole time. We had it put on a computer and it said fuel air metering. We bought an o2 sensor, but we can not get the stupid thing off of the car. Does anyone have any tips for me? Would the o2 sensor cause it to act this way? The more gas you give it the slower it wants to go.

Mine did the same thing at 19,000 miles and the dealership replaced the throttle position sensor free since it was under warranty..the light would come on and it would slowly go down in speed.I dont know if the O2 sensor would have anything to do with it though.....sorry.

If you go here and click on Hyundai WebTech Guide, it will tell you how to access Hyundai's online shop manuals including troubleshooting guides. I suggest going through the troubleshooting chart as best you can. The problem may or may not be the O2 sensor; if you look up the code you got it can tell you what likely causes are.

Thank you both for the info. It was not the o2 sensor, it was the mass air sensor.
