Hey, I have a 98' Tib with 165 000 km, and my husband has a 00' Tib with 200 000km, and they are still are still going strong! We take excellent care of them, and of course have replaced afew parts on them as you would with any car with that many km's on it. But I also got 163 000km on my original breaks, and 170 000km on the 2000. We live in Ontario, and drove all the way to Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), which was about 7000km(round trip), and the car was loaded with camping stuff! And then about 10 500km to B.C and back, loaded up and pulling a 4X4' trailer. So if your asking if I think Hyundai's are reliable, and can take being drivin hard.... I would say for sure. And yes, they are way better then American made crap, and for what you get for the price, even better then alot of imports. Because unlike Honda ( not that they aren't good cars), Hyundai doesn't sink hundreds of millions of dollars into developing an engine for F1, and I don't think they have won any, but if they have, not many races. Because when you buy a Honda thats what your paying for! Later, Stacey
