Wondering if anyone has had the problem....... Driving along one day and my car stalled, when I geared down to 4th, it started again, about 10k later, same thing, but it wouldn't start. When we got back to it an hour later, to be towed, it started right up. Fuel filter, pump, same censor?? It's not chugging or making any different noises though Thanx, later

I had a similar problem on a Ford Escort a few years back. It turned out to the the ignition switch. Apparently when the contacts heated up they would lose contact and the car would randomly die. It happened once, then again a year later, then a few months later, then... eventually pretty frequently. The shop diagnosed it by checking resistance across the switch contacts. If it is too high, things start getting warm and the whole thing starts. Also, it could be a cam position sensor. I've heard of them going out and the car not running/starting.
