My 2000 sonota cuts out at stop lights and stop signs sometimes. It does start right up again which is a problem because when I take it into the shop it never happens. Has anyone had this problem? If so how was it fixed. Thank you Frank

Could be a number of problems.Any codes present? I have seen anything from TPS problems to EGR sylenoid valves.

i have a 2000 tiburon and had a similar problem. If your car cuts out in idle like at a stoplight it could be the idle acuator. It sits right on top of the intake and easy to replace. the only problem is that it cost me around 240.00 for the part alone. I installed it myself. It fix the problem right away but felt i was ripped-off once i saw the part, a small cylinder shaped object that didn't seem to be worth much at all. good luck on your troubleshooting.

I ran into the same problem with a car that I once owned. Found out it was the breather. $20 to replace and $60 for a mechanic to replace. Not bad if you don't want to do it yourself.
