MAF sensor connector

Robinsontc -> MAF sensor connector (6/2/2006 10:39:37 AM)

Accent 2000 1.5L SOHC

There is a 5 wire connector/assembly going to the MAF sensor. What is the trick or procedure to disconnect this connector -- it does not want to disengage from the MAF assembly.

Any help will be appreciated.

Remove the metal clip using a pic and it will unplug.

ok -- sounds good. Thanks for the tip!

p.s. Have you ever successfully cleaned the MAF sensor?

Also, if the MAF acts up, does the computer have a 'soft-fail' mode for this sensor if you un plut it and try to run the car?

Thanks again.

Hey Tommy,

I may be a bit late, but if you read my post (kevincs) you may get some insight into cleaning the MAF sensor. I'm having a fuel consumption problem, and i've read that the MAF sensor may have a big part to play. I hope it works out for you, but if you havent cleaned the sensor yet maybe you can wait to see if anybody answers my post b4 you begin.
